Meadowview Christian School is forfeiting its next two football games because a player tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Trojans were scheduled to face Lowndes County Friday night and South Choctaw Academy next week.

The other MCS players will self-quarantine for the next 14 days because of the “6/15 rule.”

MCS headmaster and football coach Bob Taylor said that the school followed the updated Back to School Tool Kit issued by the Alabama Department of Public Health. After making contact with the ADPH, it was determined that this was the correct plan of action for all involved.

“We are disappointed that we will not be able to play due to the low number of remaining players,” Taylor said. “We would like to thank the ADPH and AISA for their help. Meadowview looks forward to returning to play soon.”

Taylor said MCS will remain open. Taylor added that the school will continue to monitor all students and follow protocols recommended by the ADPH.
