Morgan Academy puts its unbeaten record and Top 10 ranking on the line Friday night.
The 10th ranked Senators (4-0, 2-0) travel to Patrician Academy (3-1) in a key AISA showdown.
“We are about to play an impressive Patrician Academy team,” Senators coach and Athletic Director Danny Raines said. “We are going to have to be at our best, but we look forward to the challenge.”
Raines is pleased with the ranking, especially for the players.
“I’m glad to see us in the Top 10,” Raines said. “It’s rewarding for the kids, they have worked so diligently to get to this point. There are so many really good teams in the AISA. I’m excited for our kids to be recognized as a Top 10 team.”
Morgan Academy will have momentum against the Saints (3-1).
In a 47-26 win over Southern Academy, quarterback Andrew Thomas threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Holt Utsey ran for 285 yards and a touchdown, adding nine tackles and a quarterback sack. Cink Minter had four catches for 146 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Trey Jones had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. John Allen Ingram had 10 total tackles and a quarterback sack.
“Our kids did a great job against Southern Academy, it was a great night and I’m glad we were able to play everybody.”
