The Selma Police Department is investigating a house fire and shooting that occurred Monday night.
The first shooting involved a female victim and house fire, according to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson. The incident happened at the 1000 block of Church Street. Jackson identified the victim as Angela Dunning, 43.
“Our officers responded to the 1000 block of Church Street in reference to a gunshot victim and house fire,” Fulford said. “Upon arrival, officers made contact with a black female subject who had been shot multiple times.”
The Selma Fire Department also responded to the fire and extinguished it.
Fulford said the incident is still under investigation by the SPD.
“Detectives are interviewing witnesses and following up on leads,” Fulford said.
