Bob Taylor wears many hats at Meadowview Christian School.
Taylor can add The Selma Times-Journal volleyball coach of the year award to his list of accomplishments.
Behind Taylor, the Lady Trojans earned the Region top seed and advanced to the AISA Final Four.
Taylor also serves as headmaster, head football coach, head girls basketball coach at MCS and was softball coach last year.
“I’m a firm believer that coaching is coaching,” Taylor said. “If you can coach and teach, it doesn’t matter what the sport is.”
Taylor shifted credit for his coaching honor to the Lady Trojans. “It all boils down to the girls buying into what we were doing,” Taylor said.
Taylor also thanked the Trojans’ coaching staff in football and basketball for his success.
“Coaching a lot of sports and being the head master is hard, but you must have a great coaching staff,” Taylor said. “We have great coaches at Meadowview Christian.”
Taylor coached Sumter Academy to a AISA state championship years ago.
The Lady Trojans’ volleyball team will always have a special place in his heart.
