Jimmie Frank Smith age 82 born November 12, 1938 of Uniontown, went to be with his maker on December 23, 2020 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Jimmie “Beanpole” Smith was a truck driver over the roads for over 45 years and enjoyed what he did. He had a lot of trucker friends. After retiring he enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a long-time member of Gateway Baptist Church in Selma.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Betty Smith; his parents, Walter Smith and Reba Smith; and one sister, Margaret (Jo) Pixe.
He is survived by two brothers, Bruce (Lorraine) Smith of Coy, and Ronald (JoAnn) Smith of Magnolia; sister, Barbara (Robert) Walker of Valley Grande, ; one good and long-time friend, Rita Hopkins of Selma, ; six nephews and seven nieces; and a whole lot of relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at Sweet Water Cemetery on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Walker officiating. Condolences may be offered at www.obryantchapelfh.com. Arrangements by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.
