The Selma Police Department is investigating a shooting at Club 27 on New Year’s Day.
According to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, a 22-year-old African-American female was shot. Fulford and Jackson did not reveal the victim’s identity. The incident occurred in the early hours Friday morning.
“Officers responded to Club 27 in reference to a gunshot victim,” Fulford said.
Fulford said the victim was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the thigh and the wound was non-life threatening.
“No suspects at this time as she stated that she walked out and shots were fired,” Fulford said. “She didn’t see who it was, but her vehicle was struck several times.”
The SPD will continue to investigate the incident.
