Sixth-ranked Dallas County hammered Bibb County 63-39 to earn the top seed in the Area 5, Class 4A basketball tournament.

The Hornets improved to 9-2 and will host the Area tournament in Plantersville.

Morgan Academy 58, Monroe Academy 48: Rhyne Williams scored 16 points as the Senators (5-7, 4-1) secured a huge region victory. Andrew Thomas added 11 points and eight rebounds. Wilks Chittom had nine points.

Bibb County girls 54, Dallas County 23: The Lady Hornets fell on Senior night in Plantersville.

Monroe Academy girls 51, Morgan Academy 30: Bailey Brown led the Lady Senators (4-10, 0-5) with 16  points. McCann Perkins had eight points and eight rebounds.
