A man was shot and killed Thursday night near Lannie’s BBQ after an attempted robbery, according to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford.

Details were scarce as Fulford noted that the man’s next of kin had to be contacted before additional information could be provided.

According to social media posts after the incident, the victim was a coach at Dallas County High School.

No arrests have been made so far.
