Gospel Tabernacle and Sonlight Outreach overcame cold, windy conditions to hold a food giveaway on Wednesday at Bloch Park.
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn and Team Challenge were among those who assisted with the giveaway. Nunn also assisted Gospel Tabernacle Pastor John E. Grayson unload boxes on Tuesday. The event was originally scheduled but got postponed a day later.
Several vehicles entered the park and picked up boxes that contained frozen chicken, vegetable, onions, yogurt and assorted fruits.
Pastor Grayson said the blustery condition wasn’t going to stop them from serving the community.
“It’s cold out here, but we have a purpose: giving away food,” Pastor Grayson said.
“Cold weather does not stop hunger,” said Dr. CeCe Grayson, Grayson’s wife.
