The United Way of Selma and Dallas County donated a $10,000 check to Selma Food Bank this week.
United Way Executive Director Jeff Cothran presented the check to Selma Food Bank Executive Director Jeff Harrison on Wednesday.
Harrison said the SAFB appreciates the donation, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation was given by the United way from funds dedicated to the pandemic relief for the local residents.
“The foodbank is grateful to have the longstanding support of the United Way,” Harrison said.
Cothran said the United Way has been actively seeking COVID relief since last March when Gov. Kay Ivey made statewide coronavirus restrictions.
“We’ve been helping families in need because of COVID,” Cothran said.
