Five organizations held a community event in the Selmont area last weekend.
LIFT Ministries, Dallas County Commission, Snow’s Cleaning Service, Selma AIR and Anointed Food Service teamed to host “Spring into Serrvice” Friday across from Dollar General at 702 Roosevelt Avenue.
Free COVID testing was provided by Rural Health Medical Program. Selma AIR provided free HIV testing and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office gave away free masks.
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum and Dallas County Commissioner Curtis Williams were among the high-profile officials who attended the event.
“Involvement and engagement are key to the success of organized event, whether high profile or low key,” LIFT Ministries Founder LaTanglia Williams said. “The goal is to bridge the gap, and bring the local community together, by offering a venue and central focus for safe and healthy activities. I am grateful and appreciative to everyone that participated in this event. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork.”
