Seven Dallas County basketball players make ASWA All-State team

Seven players basketball from Dallas County schools made the Alabama Sportswriters Association All-State basketball team.

Dallas County guard Dee Ellis and Jarvis Moss, The Selma Times-Jorunal co-basketball players of the year, both made the third team.

Ellis, who averaged 18 points, nine assists and six rebounds a game, made the Class 4A third team. Moss, who averaged 20 points and four assists a game, made the Class 5A third team.

Selma forward Aeraeonna Manuel, The Selma Times-Journal girls basketball player of the year, made third-team in Class 5A girls. Manuel averaged 20 points and nine rebounds a game.

Morgan Academy guard Bailey Brown made third-team in AISA girls. Brown averaged 15 points and six rebounds a game for the Lady Senators.

Three other players are honorable mention.

Southside guard Tae Spears was honorable mention in Class 3A boys. Spears averaged 14 points a game.

Meadowview Christian School center Patricia Peoples was honorable mention in AISA girls. Peoples averaged nine points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots a game.

Keith guard Tommy Tisdale III was honorable mention in Class 1A boys. Tisdale averaged 17 points and six rebounds a game.
