A Shelby County Church helped Gospel Tabernacle Church and Son Light Center with a Food Giveaway on Saturday.

First Baptist Church of Pelham helped give away food boxes to Dallas County residents at Gospel Tabernacle Church. The first Baptist Church of Pelham sponsored the food giveaway.

A long line of vehicles circled around the church to pick up boxes that contained frozen chicken, vegetables, onions, yogurt, and assorted fruits.

“We appreciated the First Baptist Church of Pelham and their outreach group coming down to help us deliver food,” Pastor Grayson said. “We were glad to have them.”

Grayson believes it’s important to serve the community as the area recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The love for people outweighed the danger of contracting the virus,” Grayson said. “The spread of the virus caused many people in our community to lose their jobs. This brought on an extra hardship for families.”
