Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority donates check to Selma University

The Dallas County chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated donated a $50,000 check to Selma University this week at Jemison-Owen Auditorium.
The Zeta Eta Omega chapter made the donation during Selma University’s 143rd annual Founder’s Day Convocation.
“Our sorority is proud to contribute to Selma University’s continued mission to prepare preachers, teachers and students to become servant leaders who help themselves, their communities and the world,” Zeta Eta Omega Chapter Vice-President Mia Suggs said.
Selma University’s Founder’s Day had other highlights.
Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. and Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn each delivered greetings at the event.
Dallas County Circuit Clerk Lynnethia Bennett provided the musical selections.
Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention President Rev. Melvin Owen was the guest speaker and introduced by newly-appointed Selma University President Rev. Stanford E. Angion.
