Selma Police find dead body in ditch

The Selma Police Department found the dead body of an African-American man was found in a ditch on Saturday morning.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson both said that the body of a black man was found in a ditch with multiple wounds around 2 a,m. Saturday morning. The victim was found off the bypass in the 800 block of 20th Street. They did not reveal the victim’s identity.
“Officers responded to the 800 block of 20th street in reference to a subject on the ground,” Fulford said. “A black male subject in his 20’s appear to have suffered from stab and gunshot wound.”
Fulford said the incident remains under investigation by the SPD.
“There are no subjects at the time of the incident, but detectives are following up on leads,” Fulford said.
This is the seventh murder of the year in Selma and Dallas County.
