The Selma Career Center held a Job Walk last week on Water Avenue.

Several businesses in Selma and Dallas County were represented: Baymont Inn, Bush Hog, Cahaba Mental Health, City of Selma, Selma City Schools, Dallas County Schools, Crown Health Care Laundry, Dallas County Commission, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Corrections, Help at Home, International Paper, K&D Wireless, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Lear Corporation, Pallet One, Lighthouse Rehab and Health Center, SafetyNet, Park Place-Diversicare, Selma Housing Authority, Selma Water Works, St. James Hotel, Turbine Worx, UEP Industries, Selma Health and Rehab, and Vaughn Regional Medical Center.

Selma Career Center Executive Director Clifford O’Hunter said the event’s goal was helping local companies land jobs.

“It was an opportunity for companies to seek workers,” O’Hunter said. “We’re thankful for the partnerships with the local businesses.”
