Payne Elementary School third-grade teacher Kimberly Summerlin is the ‘Alexander Shunnarah Teacher of the Month’ in April.
Summerlin was chosen over 1,200 statewide teachers chosen for the second annual award presented by the law firm. Her photo is displayed on a billboard and the 22-year teacher receives a $250 VISA gift card.
“I’m extremely excited by the honor and it was unexpected,’’ Summerlin said.
Alexander Shunnarah, President and CEO of Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys, said it’s a way to honor teachers.
“We started this campaign as an opportunity for our law firm and the community to thank the hard working and dedicated teachers for all they do and give,” said Shunnarah. “This year we were proud to expand the campaign statewide and double the number of featured educators to celebrate more teachers across all of Alabama. Teachers deserve to be recognized for their diligence, enthusiasm and commitment and the impact they make every day in the classroom or virtually.”
