Charles David “Nicky” Smith Sr., age 85, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Jackson Hospital.

He was born in Birmingham, on January 19, 1936.  He was a retired Captain from the Selma Fire Department.  He was the owner of Smith Fire Protection.

He is survived by his wife; Patricia B. Smith, children; Charles David Smith Jr., Donald Chandler Smith, Mary Diane Lee and Daniel Wayne (Sherri) Smith, siblings; Delores Diabin and Ronnie Fore, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Chandler and Mary Francis Smith and sibling, Allen Wayne Fore.

A service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Bro. Rod Rochester officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Selma Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to Selma Funeral Home.
