Funeral procession announced for officer Marquis Moorer

The funeral processional for Selma Police Officer Marquis Moorer will start an hour before the service on Thursday.
The funeral procession will depart from the Selma Police Department at 1300 Alabama Avenue at 10:15 a.m. down Alabama Avenue and will proceed on Broad Street. The procession will go down Broad Street and end up at Pineview Memory Gardens.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. from Pineview Memory Gardens with the Bishop Reginald Wells, Sr., officiating in Valley Grande. Masks are required.
Public viewing of Moorer’s body is scheduled for Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center.
Moorer was killed last Tuesday in Selma Square Apartments. Javonte Stubbs was arrested as the suspect in the shooting last week and arraigned in the Dallas County Courthouse.
