Pastor John E. Grayson wears several hats in Selma.

Grayson is the Pastor of Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Being leader of a church has several responsibilities that include counseling the congregation and delivering positive messages of hope during Sunday service and Bible study during the week.

Grayson also takes time to speak with Selma residents and other Pastors in the area.

At least once a month, Grayson is leading a food giveaway to Dallas County and Selma residents at Memorial Stadium.

With those two items on his plate, Grayson never forgot about Walton Theatre. The only place to see movies in Selma has been closed for a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grayson has scheduled a re-opening of the movie theatre on Aug. 21.

The timing is perfect because it comes a day after the opening of high school football for some schools in Dallas County.

We applaud Pastor Grayson for the charitable works he’s doing in Selma.
