An Orrville man was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murder and abuse of corpse from a six-year-old case.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Raphael Marquel Clark, 30, was convicted of fatally shooting another man and dragging his body into the woods.
Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins Pettaway sentenced Clark to life for murder and 10 years on the abuse of corpse.
Clark is being sentenced for murder of Derrick Dower Jr. on May 14, 2015.
Clark made contact with a Selma police officer in the parking lot of Selma High School and told law enforcement that he shot and killed someone at the intersection of Dallas County Road 45 and Dallas County Road 3 in the Beloit-Orrville community.
“He is a serial robber who escalated his violence to murder,’’ Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said.
