The Selma Police Department arrested a suspect in this week’s murder case.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Jeanette Towns Moore was arrested on Friday evening and charged with the stabbing of her husband, Roderick Moore. Jackson said that Moore was arrested on the Minter Street and Franklin Street.
The SPD responded to the Vaughan Regional Medical Center on September 17 after Moore was stabbed. He later died from the stabbing.
Jeanette Towns Moore is currently in the Dallas County Jail under a no bond. Jackson said she will be arraigned Monday at 9 a.m. in the Dallas County Courthouse in the courtroom of Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong.
“This is another case the Selma Police Department has solved,” Jackson said. “Until this domestic violence murder, Selma had a period of no murders in the last two months. Hopefully, this will be the last one in 2021.”
It’s the 16th murder of the year in Selma.
