The ALEA State Bureau of Investigation has arrested two suspects who were allegedly involved in a Friday morning shooting with Dallas County Sheriff Deputies.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Shalece Gibson and Terrance Collins were both arrested Friday evening by ALEA and DCSO in connection to what is being described as a “shootout.”

Jackson said the DCSO deputies were patrolling with the SAFE Task Force on Friday morning and investigated a house being shot into. He said a car chase ensued during which time several suspects in the car fired on police — who then returned fire. The incident happened near Washington Street and Griffin Avenue in Selma.

Jackson said the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran. 

“Fortunately, the officers spotted these gunslingers shooting up a house before somebody got killed and were able to confiscate the car they were in and stopped them from turning Selma into the Wild, Wild West,” Jackson said.

Gibson, 23, is charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder and discharging a gun into occupied building. He was arrested in the 988 block of Selfield Road by ALEA-Selma around 4:07 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Collins, 31, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging into occupied building, and discharging gun into occupied building.  He was arrested  by DCSO around 10:08 p.m. Friday night.

Gibson and Collins are in the Dallas County Jail on $105,000 bond each. A bond hearing will be held later this week in the Dallas County Courthouse.
