Three Southside High School students were arrested by the Dallas County Sheriff Office Friday for having guns in the classroom.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, two of the students brought guns to school. Jackson said the DCSO got a tip Friday morning about a gun being on campus. As DSCO investigated on campus, the school was locked down for 90 minutes.
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said officers found handguns inside a bag and one inside a jacket and marijuana. All three weapons were loaded. No one was hurt.
One of the students were wanted by the SPD for shooting into an occupied dwelling, according to Granthum.
Because the students are minors, their identities can’t be revealed. All three students were taken to a juvenile detention center.
