A 66 year old man was found dead on Wednesday morning.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson. Charles Steele, 66, was shot to death. Jackson said the incident took place between the corner of Broad Street and Third Avenue.

No arrests have been made as the Selma Police Department continues to investigate the first homicide of 2022.

Last year, 22 murders were committed in the Queen City.
