A Dallas County Sheriff Deputy was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Friday night.

According to Dallas County Sheriff Mike Grantham, the accident happened on Dallas Avenue between Union Street and Lapsley Street. Grantham also said it wasn’t a vehicle pursuit.

“The deputy was on his way to Craig Air Field and it looked like a car pulled out in front of our deputy,” Grantham said.

Grantham did not reveal the identity of the deputy and said the officer was taken to the hospital, but only suffered minor bumps and bruises from the accident.

“The vehicle suffered damage, but the officer is doing fine and back home,” Grantham said.

Grantham said the Dallas County Sheriff Office will continue to investigate the accident.
