Central Alabama Regional Child Advocacy Center continued its annual Pinwheel Garden plantings last week.
CARCAR shows love to child abuse victims and raise awareness in its service region, Bibb County, Dallas County, Hale County, Perry County and Wilcox County.
Each pinwheel represents a child involved in an abuse investigation during the year. Dallas County had 207 pinwheels planted this year.
We appreciate the hard work and dedication CARCAC Executive Director Lauri Cothran does every year.
We find it cowardly and gutless whenever someone abuses or mistreats a child. We find that kind of behavior. unacceptable.
We applaud the organizations that are pinwheel supporters: International Paper, Dallas County Commission, Bush Hog, Horizon Investment Group, Selma Funeral Home and Long Lewis Foundation
CARCAR has strong support in law enforcement: Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum, Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson.
Cothran has another strong ally in the fight against child abuse, her husband and United Way of Selma-Dallas County Executive Director Jeff Cothran.
We are grateful to have CARCAR and its strong support base.
