Gospel Tabernacle church hosted Praise in the Park

Praise in the Park was held a week after Easter and at a different location.
The event, held under a gentle breeze and bright sunshine, was hosted by Gospel Tabernacle Church-Selma was held on Saturday at GWC Homes. First Baptist Church-Pelham Son Light Center and Selma Housing Authority all partnered with Gospel Tabernacle for the event.
“Praise in the Park was a blessed community outreach effort,” Gospel Tabernacle Pastor John E. Grayson said.
Food boxes were given away. Hot dogs and hamburgers were served and games for the kids.
Volunteers from the University of Alabama School of Accounting and Black Student Union assisted with the event.
City of Selma Planning and Development Director Danielle Wooten Snow’s Cleaning Service and RB Hudson Principal Cicely Curtis were also among the volunteers.
LeMarkus A. Snow of Snow’s Cleaning Service and Curtis both praised Grayson for his commitment to the Queen City.
“We need more community leaders to step up and have events like this for our kids and families in need , and he’s blessing families with food boxes,” Snow said.
Added Curtis: “It was a great time and blessing to serve alongside our leaders Pastor and Dr. CeCe Grayson. People’s needs were met and some gave their lives to Christ. That is what outreach is all about.”
The event was originally scheduled for Easter Sunday at the Riverfront Amphitheater, but got postponed because of heavy rainstorm.
