City of Valley Grande hosts Art in the Park

The weather conditions were perfect as the city of Valley Grande held Art in the Park on Saturday at Valley Grande Walking Trail.
Under clear blue skies, bright sun and heavy winds, countless drawings of kids covered the fences.
Several vendors filled the parking lot, selling hamburgers, corn dogs, hot dogs, barbecue, assorted drinks and desserts
Throughout the park, booths were set up with jewelry, various wood works.
Rock climbing, face painting, and bouncy house were available for the kids.
Mayor Wayne Labbe rode the kids around in a wagon. Labbe was pleased at how the event turned out.
Here are the art contest winners:
-Addison Sawyer Harrison was the 6 and under winner.
-Emma Kate Cooper was the 7-to-9 winner.
-Layla Muhannad was the 10-13 year-old-winner.
The Morgan Academy senior duo of Wilks Chittom and Wade Mason, Mac Spencer and Phillip Morgan all sang at the event.
Valley Grande City Councilwoman Sara Day, who’s in charge of the Walking Trail and Community Events, said she was pleased with the turnout.
“It was a beautiful day to have Art in the Park,” Day said. The vendors were excited. The people that came to the event enjoyed themselves.”
Ana Bullard grew up in Valley Grande with Day, attended the event with her daughters, Madison and Emily Bullard.
