A Huddle House Restaurant will open in Selma next month.
Huddle House Senior Director of Field Marketing Jeremy Lee said June 15 is the target date for opening at 1334 Highland Avenue, a few blocks away from Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The restaurant planned to open earlier but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Selma is a perfect setting for our brand as it has the small-town charm and customer base that will foster the ideal Huddle House environment,” Lee said in a statement. “There has always been a strong presence throughout Alabama and we feel that Selma will help to continue the growth of the Huddle House brand.”
Lee said they are looking to hire 50 staff members and managers to work at the new restaurant.
The Selma Huddle House also announced plans after its opening, hosting that includes a VIP Luncheon with local leaders and stakeholders, Friends and Family Night for staff members and management to celebrate the location ahead of its official opening. A Grand Opening Celebration will also be held between six and eight weeks after opening.
“We are very excited to open this restaurant and provide the Selma community with our southern hospitality and delicious homestyle food that’s served from the heart,” Lee said.
