Unidentified body pulled from Alabama River outside Selma

A unidentified body was pulled out of the Alabama River in Dallas County this week by the Selma-Dallas County Rescue Squad.
According to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford, a man was working near the river spotted the body floating in the water Tuesday morning and immediately called law enforcement. T he body was recovered about a mile south of the Selma City Marina.
Fulford said that the Selma Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff Office both assisted with the rescue attempt.
Fulford also said that the unknown body has been sent to forensics to try and determine an identity.
“Right now, we gonna have to rely on the dental to verify the person,” Fulford said. “They have been sent to the lab.”
