The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in a murder that took place during the weekend of the 57th annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee.
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said Monday that Matthew Strowder, 48, was arrested and charged with the murder of Angela Garrett on March 5 at Hidden Acres Mobile Home Park. Strowder is charged with capital murder. Garrett’s body was found by a family member. Granthum said that Garrett was stabbed multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
Granthum said that State forensics examined the DNA and murder weapon, determining that it was Strowder. Granthum said that Strowder was arrested last Friday and is currently in the Dallas County Jail under no bond.
Granthum said that Strowder was a neighbor of Garrett.
