A Selma man was arrested Sunday on charges of domestic violence at the Felix Heights Apartment complex.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Marquavious McCants, 31, the incident took place at the block of 405 Medical Center Parkway. The Selma Police Department received a call in reference to a female being allegedly assaulted. When officers arrived on the scene, Jackson said that the crisis became a hostage situation that turned into a barricaded suspect. Jackson said the alleged victim is Dominque Bethel, 37.
Jackson said McCants was arrested and taken into custody after the SPD was assisted by the ALEA SWAT Team. He is currently in the Dallas County Jail.
Jackson said McCants is charged with second-degree domestic violence, kidnapping, second-degree domestic violence strangulation, and third-degree domestic violence assault. The alleged victim was not seriously injured, said Jackson.
