Several business items will be discussed at the Selma City Council meeting on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Thirteen business items were discussed by council members at Thursday night’s Work Session.
Among the items:
-Councilwoman Lesia James said several people have come out to resurface Woodrow Tennis Court, but she hasn’t received a estimate for repairs.
-Councilman Clay Carmichael invited everyone, including the Selma Redevelopment Authority to attend the Main Street Alabama Conference, held on August 17-19 in Opelika. Carmichael plans to use discretionary funds.
-Councilwoman Jannie Thomas said the council needs to look at the 2020-2021 Audit report because “we don’t know what’s in there.”
City Council President Billy Young brought up two items from the meeting:
-Requesting a full review of debt owed by the city especially when some bonds will be modified next year. He said that bond payments will increase next year.
-Young also said that he will bring up for discussion that council members’ discretionary funds roll over into next year.
Also on the Citizen’s concerns are: Pastor Watson and NPG Consultant Mark Neely.
