We’re over a month away from the 2022 Fiscal Year ending.
The City of Selma is already in the process of working on its budget for Fiscal Year 2023. The current Fiscal Yearr ends September. 30 and the new Fiscal year starts October 1.
Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. and the city’s department heads held a budget session, which only three Council members showed.
The Selma City Council will begin its series of budget hearings starting on August 10 at Council Chambers.
We need both sides to can come together and work out a budget beneficial to both sides.
We’re optimistic that both the Mayor and city council put aside their differences and pass a balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2023.
