A Selma man was arrested Saturday for a domestic violence murder of a female and raped a teenage girl.
According to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Larry Donnell McWilliams Jr., 42, was charged with domestic violence murder, attempted murder and first-degree rape.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Saturday at the 232 block of Lamar Avenue where Shawnta Moultry, 44, was stabbed multiple times and eventually pronounced dead.
Fulford and Jackson also confirmed that a 15-year-old girl was also stabbed and raped. Because of state law, the juvenile’s identity can’t be revealed.
Fulford said that Selma Police Detectives conducted interviews and they determined McWilliams was the offender.
“McWilliams was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence murder, attempted murder and first-degree rape,” Fulford said.
Jackson added that McWilliams is currently in the Dallas County Jail with a $1.62 million bond. He will be arraigned in the Dallas County Courthouse this week.
“These are horrific crimes, his punishment will be swift and tough,” Jackson said.
