The body of a Selma teenager was found by the Selma Police Department on Thursday night.

Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said the body of Sean Wiggins, 18, was found around 9 p.m. Thursday at B and B Grocery on the 2900 block of Water Avenue.

“Selma Police officers responded to the 2900 block of Water Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim, 18-year-old Sean Wiggins,” Fulford said. “He was pronounced deceased (at the scene).”

Fulford said that the Selma Detective Division is actively working the case and person of interest at this time. The case remains under investigation by the SPD.

It’s the 10th murder in Selma of 2022, the second death this week.
