LIFT Ministries recently donated purses filled with hygiene items to SABRA Sanctuary for its “Purses with A Purpose” program.
Purses with a Purpose is a program to fill purses with personal care items like soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, mouth wash, deodorant and feminine hygiene products for domestic violence victims. “So many times with women who have experienced domestic violence, they need a save space to like Sabra Sanctuary to escape to and they don’t have articles they need for survival,” Williams said.
Williams made the presentation to SABRA Sanctuary Executive Director Merrill South.
Dallas County Commissioner Vivian Rogers and former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood, who founded SABRA Sanctuary, were also at the presentation.
Williams, the daughter of Dallas County Commissioner Curtis Williams, said she appreciated the donations and support from Selma and Dallas County.
“I am blessed to have people that have donated and helped me be a blessing to someone else,” Williams said.
