Selma man sentenced to 18 years in prison

A Selma man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for manslaughter committed in 2016.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Sandy Rhodes was sentenced by Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Marvin Wiggins in the Dallas County Courthouse.
On June 27,Rhodes pled guilty to murdering his brother-in-law after a shooting in March 2016.
The incident occurred at the 100 block of College Drive after a shooting was reported to the Selma Police Department. The victim, Rhodes’ brother-in-law, was found dead at the scene. Selma Police said the two men were in a argument.
At the hearing, Wiggins ordered a pre-sentence investigation and report before sentencing Rhodes.
“It’s another sad and tragic domestic violence situation,” Jackson said.
