Photo by Dennis Palmer: A strong tornado blew through Selma Thursday blocking roads and bridges with downed trees and power lines. The NWS has preliminarily rated the tornado an EF-2.

A large tornado touched down in Selma early Thursday afternoon, knocking down trees and causing extensive structural damage throughout the area.
No reports have been received regarding injuries or fatalities at this time. The true extent of damage is not yet known.
The tornado passed through as a part of a line of storms that have also caused damage in parts of Dallas County.
