Man charged with two counts of capital murder from Sunday’s shooting

A man was arrested Monday by the Selma Police Department on multiple charges of capital murder from Sunday’s shooting.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford confirmed that Micheal Latrell Brown, 22, has been charged with two counts charge of Capital Murder, two counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, and a count of second-degree assault.
The arrest comes from a shooting that occurred at the 100 block of Cummings Circle around 11 p.m. on March 5, 2023.
Cameron Struggs, 24, was pronounced dead on the scene by Dallas County Coroner Alan Dailey from gunshot wounds. Lakin Smith, 24, was pronounced dead at the local hospital from gunshot wounds.
An African-American female, 16, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Because of state law, her identity can’t be revealed.
The vehicles of Deonte Olds, 24, and Edrena Hawkins, 24, were shot into.
Selma Police Detectives identified witnesses in reference to the shooting and learned Brown was the primary shooter. Brown is currently being held in jail under No Bond.
