The Selma Charity League will be hosting “Ace of Hearts- Casino Night” on April 15, 2023, from 7-10 p.m.  at ArtsRevive.

Tickets went on sale March 1 for $35. The ticket price includes  admission, casino funny money, late night snacks, and drinks.

All of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Selma-Dallas County Public Library, specifically their  new reading initiatives and the beloved Summer Program.

Each summer approximately 6,000 children  participate in the program which includes reading enrichment activities, arts programming, and  traveling exhibitions/attractions.

Between business sponsorships and ticket sales, the goal of the event  is to raise enough to support the entire summer program!

“Over the course of the summer the library’s programming keeps the minds of children focused on  learning even when school is out- through creative and experiential learning opportunities offered,” says  Shannon Watts, Selma Charity League’s President. “Our hope is that even though the community has  been devastated in the last few months, we can all gather together for a fun event to support a cause  near and dear to our hearts.”

The event’s honkytonk vibe will have a little something for everyone, there will be plenty of fun with lots  of casino style games, nostalgic 90’s snacks, a mechanical bull and 90’s country music to boot scootin  boogie the night away. We will also offer a chance to win BIG with everyone’s favorite-a Drawdown  raffle! Drinks are included also and are generously donated by Bama Bud and Pepsi-Cola Bottling  Company of Selma.

The Selma Charity League began in 1931 and is a civic organization whose main interest is raising money  for local charities and serving our community.
