The Citywide surveillance cameras was among the subjects at Thursday’s Selma City Work Session.
The entire city council was present: city council President Billy Young, council members Michael Johnson, Sam Randolph, Christie Thomas, Troy Harvill, Atkin Jemison, Clay Carmichael, Lesia James, and Jannie Thomas.
The RFP for surveillance cameras was one of three Resolutions under the Attorney Report by City Attorney Major Madison.
Young encouraged all council members get Madison information so a vote could take place either at a council meeting Tuesday or special called meeting. He also said they need to move forward with the camera system.
Another Resolution on Madison’s list was the Back to School Holiday set for July 23.
The Resolution Madison presented was a request by City Treasurer Terri Barnes-Smith in the amount of $91,000 to supplement the cost of replacing a roof at the Public Works Building.
Liz Rutledge and Public Works Director Henry Hicks attended the work session.
Former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood also attended the 90-minute work session.
