US Marshals arrest seven, locate two missing children in Selma

Seven people were arrested last week during a three-day fugitive operation by the US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
The charges include: Capital Murder, Murder, Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Child Porn, possession of weapons.
The GCRFTF also located two children that had been reported kidnapped, seized two handguns, and small amounts of Marijuana and cocaine.
A man, Darren Grant, was accused of kidnapping two juvenile children after he assaulting and shooting someone. Grant’s case began in Meridian, Mississippi and he escaped to Alabama. Grant was charged with Grant was arrested for first- degree assault, kidnapping, and Felon in Possession of Firearm.
The US Marshals Service GCRFTF – Mobile Office, received help from the following organizations: the GCRFTF – Jackson, MS Office, the Southern District of Alabama, Selma Police Department, Selma Alabama Firearms Enforcement Task Force, The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, The Marengo County Sheriff’s Office, The Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office, The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, The District Attorney’s Office 4th Judicial Circuit, and The District Attorney’s Office 17th Judicial District
The GCRFTF are still actively pursuing other individuals with warrants wanted out of the Selma area.
“This operation shows how successful law enforcement can be when multiple departments put their assets together in an effort to take individuals into custody who are wanted for violent crimes,” said Mark F. Sloke, the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Alabama. “This joint operation highlights the commitment we all have to keep the historic streets of Selma safe for its citizens.”
Four other suspects were arrested during this operation:
-Ladarius Parker, Capital murder.
-Clarence Brown, murder.
-Willis Norris, attempted murder.
-Walter Young, attempted murder.
-Christopher Gates, possession of child porn, plus 80 counts.
-Roderick Rodgers, possession of controlled substance.
The GCRFTF says they are still actively pursuing other individuals with warrants wanted out of Selma.
“The success of this operation speaks not only to the strong working relationships between our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, but also to the commitment and dedication we all share for locating and apprehending fugitives who need to be behind bars and not on the streets,” said Sean P. Costello, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama.
