The George Evans Special Needs Fun Day will be held Thursday at the George P. Evans Building.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Parts of the event will also take place at the Selma Amphitheater.

Evans, who served as Selma Mayor from 2008 to 2016, appeared at the Selma City Council meeting on Tuesday. Evans thanked Mayor James Perkins Jr. and the Selma city council for allowing the use of both buildings.

“I thank Mayor Perkins and the Selma city council for your donations and supporting the special needs program,” Evans said.  “It will be a great program that the kids will enjoy.”
