A rainy day was saved for the students at J.E Terry Elementary School as the Kona Ice truck pulled up on April 28. Students and staff came out to enjoy colorful Kona Ice during a brief break on a rainy day. The kids decided what to put on their ice, having options of things like Poprocks or a spoon that changed colors. There were several fun flavors for the students to choose from and mix. The flavors included: Tiger’s Blood, Lucky Lime, Peach, Tropical Twist, Groovy Grape, Wedding Cake, Cherry Cola, Monkey Business, Kiwi Lime Kooler and Vanilla Colada. Parents and grandparents came by to enjoy the treat with the kids in the cafeteria. The students have recently finished their end of the year assessments and J.E. Terry Elementary Principal Catherine Coleman decided the kids needed something special after the assessments. “To celebrate completing end-of-the-year assessments, our students enjoyed some Kona Ice today despite it being a rainy day mostly all day. We appreciate everyone that joined us for the fun today!” The Kona Ice truck has been around Dallas County a lot recently making stops at several schools in Dallas County Schools and Selma City Schools. “Kona Ice was a success today at JE Terry Elementary,” said J. E. Terry Reading Coach April Clements. “We had a lot of parents turn out and come be a part of our Family involvement day today. It is very important to create avenues for parents to stay involved.”
