Recreation Committee held meeting Thursday evening

City of Selma Parks and Recreation Director Dr. Denisha Hendricks spoke Thursday at the Recreation Committee Meeting.
Hendricks addressed the committee of Selma Councilmen, Chairman Atkin Jemison, Clay Carmichael and Sam Randolph with Insurance Claim updates about Bloch Park and Memorial Stadium on Hurricane Zeta and the January 12 tornado.
Hendricks said the insurance claim was settled between AMIC Insurance Company and Steward Construction on Hurricane Zeta.
Hendricks, the International Chair of the Board of Directors for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, said a check over $98,000 was settled for Bloch Park damages. She also said a check over $154,000 was settled for Memorial Stadium damages. She added that a check over $9,200 was settled with Frazier Housing Construction on the tennis courts.
Hendricks provided only draft numbers from the tornado damage with AMEC Insurance Company because it’s ongoing with FEMA.
She said the draft numbers for Memorial Stadium is over $165,000. She also said that the Bloch Park amount is over $155,549 and tennis court over $6,900.
Selma City Councilwoman Lesia James and Selma High School Athletic Director Willie Morgan attended the meeting.
