Selma Police, Dallas County deputies honored

Selma Police officers and Dallas County Sheriff Deputies were honored at Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on Thursday at the Dallas County Administration building.
Officers were treated to a meal of catfish, fries and cole slaw.
Former Selma City Councilwoman Susan Youngblood organized the event and said all of the donations will go to the Blackbelt Benefit Group.
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said he’s grateful that the community supports law enforcement.
“It means so much that the public appreciates law enforcement,” Granthum said. “We appreciate that.”
Gospel Tabernacle Pastor John Grayson, Aubrey Carter of Alabama Power and Dallas County employee Temekia Sykes assisted with the event.
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Dallas County Commissioner Vivian Rogers., Selma City Council President Billy Young, Selma City Councilman Sam Randolph, his son, Selma Housing Authority Executive Director Kennard Randolph, Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum, Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford, Selma Municipal Judge Donovan McGuire and Fourth Judicial District Attorney Robert L. Turner Sr. all attended the event.
