A Dallas County woman was fatally shot during a drive-by shooting on Mother’s Day weekend.

According to Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Diane Fitts, 33, was killed Saturday morning on the 9000 block of County Road 3. Officers said the shooting occurred around 8 a.m. Saturday morning. They also said Fitts’ home was targeted in a drive-by shooting and a family member was unable to take Fitts to the hospital and she died.

The incident remains under investigation by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers.

This is the 12th murder in Dallas County, with the previous 11 occurring in Selma.
