Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama won the K2 Peak Award for innovation in provider-payer collaboration at the KLAS K2 Summit.
Secure Exchange Solutions and Innova Primary Care also shared the honor with Blue Shield and Blue Cross of Alabama, receiving SES and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama earning a KLAS Points of Light award that highlights the program to engage primary care physicians for a 50% decrease in hospital readmissions and a 46% decrease in provider costs.

The Care Alerts program assists with greater connectivity to local hospitals, representing 73% of the short-term acute care hospital beds in the state. Clinician onboarding into the program is seamless through self-service enrollment.
